Transit Police Activity

On October 9th, 2012 at approximately 11:00 am Transit Police detectives and officers were at Haymarket MBTA station as part of a sustained concerted effort to combat drug related issues occuring at the station. While there officers observed a female, later identified as Maria Gallardo-Gonzalez, 58 of Malden MA., distribute a controlled narcotic (Klonopins), only available via a legal prescription, to another female, later identified as Donna MaClennon, 47 of Malden, MA.,  Officers placed both women under arrest for violation of the Commonwealth's Drug laws and they were transported to Transit Police HQ for processing. Both Gonzalez and MaClennon will appear in Boston Municipal Court sometime today.

On October 9th, 2012 at approximately 8:30 pm a Transit Police Officer assigned to Area 4 was on patrol at Forest Hills MBTA station when he had occassion to observe a male, later identified as Derrick Last,  26 of Jamaica Plain, smoking a cigarette in the busway. The officer approached Last to advise of the law prohibiting smoking on MBTA property and issue a citation. Subsequently it was discovered there was an outstanding default warrant in existence for Last's arrest from Quincy District Court for Assaualt and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Last was placed into custody for the warrant and transported to Transit Police HQ for processing. Last will appear in Quincy District Court sometime today.
