Quincy man arrested for Up-Skirting Broadway Station.

On July 23, 2019 at approximately 7:45PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Broadway station for a report of a male "Up-Skirting" a female victim with his cellular telephone. Upon arrival officers were met by a witness who relayed the following: While ascending up the escalator the witness was passed and bumped by a male, later identified as Yoa Wong, 27, of Quincy. The witness believes he was passed and bumped by Wong so he (Wong) could better position himself with the victim. At this time the witness reports Wong using his cellular telephone videoed under the victim's dress and between her legs while positioned behind her.


The witness followed Wong out onto Dorchester Avenue and was able to have someone contact 911 and prevent Wong from leaving until police arrived. Based on witness/s statements and statements made on scene Wong was placed into custody under the Up-Skirting Law and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Level 3 Sex Offender arrested for Lewdness on Orange Line

On July 18, 2019 at approximately 3PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Forest Hills Station for a report of a male committing a lewd act. Upon arrival officers were met by the victim who relayed the following: While travelling on an Orange Line train the victim was approached by a male who began to ask her inappropriate questions. The Victim tried to ignore the male however at this time he fully exposed himself to her.

On July 20, 2019, based on a review of our public safety cameras, an eagle eyed Transit Police officer spotted the offending male, later identified as KENNEDY COLSON, 29, of Boston on the corner of Ukraine Way and Washington Street in Jamaica Plain. Colson was positively identified and placed into custody for Open & Gross Lewdness. Colson was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

COLSON KENNEDY is a registered Level 3 Sex Offender.

Charlestown man wanted for Assaulting police caught fare evading.

On July 18, 2019 at approximately 5:19PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Crime Suppression Team were at the MBTA's North Station Green Line when their attention was drawn to a male, later identified as Derek Matarazzo, 31, of Charlestown. Matarazzo fare evaded by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Matarazzo for the purpose of issuing a citation. Initially Matatrazzo furnished a false name to disguise his true identity.  Not deterred officers subsequently  discovered Matarazzo's true name. Matarazzo was wanted (Warrants) for Assaulting a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest and Threats to Commit a Crime issued from Lowell District Court.

Matarazzo was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. During this process officers located what they believed to be a controlled narcotics on Matarazzo's person.

28 year old man caught defacing MBTA Station.

On July 15, 2019 at approximately 11:13PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Hynes station for a report of a person defacing the side of the station with green and white paint. Upon arrival officers were met by a witness, who provided a description of the male involved. Officers were able to locate a male fitting the description, later identified as Alexa Royce, 28, of Jamaica Plain. Royce was shirtless and officers observed white paint splattered about his abdomen and green paint on his fingertips. Officers also discovered Royce was in possession of five green and white spray paint cans. Royce was positively identified as the person defacing/vandalizing the station.

Officers were unable to decipher what Royce had spray painted. When asked what he sprayed on the building Royce responded " It's my personal art. I don't want to share that with you". Royce was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Whitman man Indecently Assaults teenager on board Silver Line bus.

On July 14, 2019 at approximately 9:45PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to South Station Silver Line for a report of an assault on board a Silver Line bus. Upon arrival officers were met by witnesses and a 16 year old female victim. The victim informed the officers she was traveling on board a Silver Line bus en route to South Station when she was Indecently Assaulted by a male, later identified as JOHN REED, 52, of Whitman. Witnesses and the victim pointed out Reed who remained on the bus. As the officers were speaking with the victim Reed displayed his middle finger at her.

Officers boarded the bus and informed Reed he was under arrest. Reed was uncooperative and dropped his body to the floor when officers attempted to place him in hand restraints. Ultimately Reed was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process where officers noted a strong smell of alcohol emanating from his person.

Trespasser struck in Wareham.

On July 13 2019 at approximately 8:30PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to Wareham for a report of person possibly struck by a commuter rail train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Wareham Fire & EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A male, age unknown at this time, while trespassing on the right of way was struck by an outbound commuter rail train on the Lakeville Line. The male has been transported to a local area hospital with serious injuries.


Transit Police detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
Foul play is NOT suspected.

Train pedestrian Waltham. Trespasser struck

On July 10 2019 at approximately 6PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to MBTA Brandeis Commuter Rail station in Waltham for a report of person possibly struck by a train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Waltham Fire & EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A male, age unknown at this time, while trespassing on the right of way on track 1 was struck by an outbound commuter rail train on the Fitchburg Line. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injures sustained.


Transit Police detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
Foul play is NOT suspected.

Fatality in Newton: Trespasser struck

On July 3 2019 at approximately 5:15PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to MBTA Newtonville Commuter Rail station for a report of person possibly struck by a train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Newton Fire & EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A male, approximate age of early 20's, while trespassing on the right of way on track 2 was struck by an outbound commuter rail train on the Framingham Line. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injures sustained.


Transit Police detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
Foul play is NOT suspected.

Boston man wanted more then just a cigarette

On July 2, 2019 at approximately 2AM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Wonderland Station for a report of an attempted robbery. Upon arrival officers were met by a male victim who relayed the following: Victim was approached by a male, later identified as Mario Porrata, 37, of Roxbury. Porrata asked the victim for a cigarette. The victim informed Porrata he did not have any cigarettes but had plans to purchase some soon. At this point Porrata stated " How about I just rob you instead ". Porrata motioned as if he was armed with a weapon. The victim fled out of fear and was chased by Porrata. The victim called 911 and Porrata gave up on his foot pursuit of the victim.

Revere Police, based on a description, stopped Porrata in close proximity to the incident. The victim positively id'd Porrata as his assailant. Porrata was placed into custody for  Armed Assault with Intent to Rob and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
