Melrose man arrested at Malden Center Station

On February 27, 2016 at approximately 10:55pm Transit Police officers working in the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Malden Center Station for a report of a male refusing to exit an Orange Line train and causing damage within. Upon arrival officers were directed to the train car where they observed a male, later identified as Daniel Steele, 32 , of Melrose behaving erratically. Officers entered the train car and removed Steele. Once off the train witnesses informed the officers that moments earlier Steel had shattered the glass window to the MBTA inspector's booth with his fist and fully exposed his genitals to all within view.

Officers placed Steele into custody and transported him to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.  Steele was arraigned on Monday February 29, 2016 in Malden District Court for Malicious Destruction of Property Over 250.00 and Open & Gross Lewdness.

Wanted man from Douglas,MA arrested by TPD.

On February 24, 2016 at approximately 6PM Transit Police officers were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Park Street Station. While there they observed a male, later identified as Joseph Williams, 24, of Douglas, MA. near the entrance of the station. Officers believed Williams had warrants in existence for his arrest. Officers approached Williams and subsequently confirmed he was wanted out of Worcester District Court for Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct and Westborough District Court for Destruction of Property Over 250.00 and B&E Nighttime for Felony Purposes. Williams was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

On Monday, February 15, 2016, at approximately 5:50 PM, the subject depicted within spat on an MBTA Bus Operator near Central Square in Lynn. The incident occurred onboard an MBTA Bus # 871, Route  # 442.

Wanted Felon caught fare evading.

On February 11, 2016 at approximately 5:30 pm Transit Police officers were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Downtown Crossing Station. While there they had their attention drawn to a male, later identified as Jesus Carrassquillo , 22, of Boston, who fare evaded by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Carrasquillo for the purpose of issuing a citation but soon discovered there was a warrant in existence for Carrasquillo's arrest issued from Worcester Superior Court for Armed Robbery. Carassquillo was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

Confirmed Fatality Endicott Station

Death Investigation
On February 2, 2016 at approximately 4:20pm Transit Police Officers received a radio call to respond to Endicott Station for a report of a person possibly struck by a train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Dedham Fire and EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information : in the vicinity of Endicott Station a male while trespassing on Track 1 was struck by a Franklin Branch train. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained. Transit Police detectives along with representatives of the Norfolk County DA's Office are currently investigating the facts and circumstances which led to the incident.

 
Commuter rail will be busing passengers between Dedham Corp and Readville stations.
