On Sunday, March 20, 2016, at approximately 5:49 PM, the male subject depicted within committed an Assault & Battery with injury on a male passenger on the Red Line southbound platform at Andrew Square MBTA Station.
The subject is described as follows;

      White male, 35-40 years of age, dark hair, green hooded jacket and blue jeans

Medford man arrested for Open & Gross conduct

On March 21, 2016 at approximately 1:15PM a female passenger, while traveling on an MBTA Green Line trolley in the vicinity of Arlington station, noticed a male passenger position himself in close proximity to her. The female, noting there was room for the male to have his own space, moved away from the suspect male. The male followed her and again positioned himself in close proximity. Shortly thereafter the female observed the suspect male masturbating. Another passenger intervened and demanded the suspect male cease his behavior. The suspect male exited the trolley at North Station and vacated the area.  

On March 28, 2016 at approximately 10:15AM Transit Police detectives, after a thorough investigation, did place Michael Frechette, 45, of Medford into custody at MBTA Wellington Station for Open & Gross Lewdness. Frechette was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process and was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court-Central Division on the same day.

Winthrop man netted by Point of Entry Policing

On March 24, 2016 at approximately 2:20PM Transit Police officers working in the North District were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Maverick Station. While there their attention was directed to a male, later identified as Mouad Faris, 30, of Winthrop who entered through the fare gates without paying. Officers approached Faris for the purpose of issuing a citation and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for his arrest issued from East Boston District Court for Disorderly Conduct, Assault & Battery and various motor vehicle violations. Faris was placed into custody and transported to Transit PD HQ for the arrest booking process.

North Attleboro man arrested for Illegal handgun.

On March 20, 2016 at approximately 4PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District were monitoring the large crowds passing through South Station as a result of the Saint Patrick's Day Parade in South Boston. While there they received a radio call for a fight in progress on the Red Line platform. Officers immediately proceeded in that direction and were approached by two witnesses who appeared frightened. The witnesses reported a male was armed with a firearm. Apparently the male was asking other passengers if they wished to purchase illicit narcotics and at one point bent over and a firearm fell from his waistband. The witnesses provided a description and last known location. Officers were able to locate the male, later identified as Nichola Cossette, 25, of North Attleboro on the far end of the platform and seized a loaded .22 caliber handgun from his possession.

Cossette was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. It is expected Cossette will be arraigned sometime today in Boston Municipal Court- Central Division for Carrying a Firearm w/out a License and related charges.

On Thursday, March 17, 2016, at approximately 3:20 PM, the subject depicted within robbed an Orange Line  passenger, at knifepoint, of his backpack at Sullivan Square Station.

The subject is described as follows;
   White or Hispanic male, 20 years of age, long hair in a ponytail, wearing gray sweatpants, a gray sweatshirt with a red horizontal stripe on the top portion of the sweater, with the words, “STUSSY INTERNATIONAL” scribed on it. The backpack is described as a brown leather, MCM brand, with studded MCM logo/monogram on it.

TPD officers recover two firearms.

On March 12, 2016, under Chief Green's leadership, the Transit Police Department implemented a new patrol plan. We are confident the new plan will provide for a safer system, more efficient police services and a visible presence of uniformed officers were they are needed most. Our riding public demands, expects and most importantly deserves that. The men and women of the TPD are committed to providing the safest system as possible and are steadfastly dedicated to our mission of safeguarding the MBTA. 

As a direct result of the new plan and a calculated deployment of resources Transit Police officers removed two firearms from individuals who were traveling on or attempting to travel on the MBTA on 03/16/2016.  Ramon Oquendo, 23, of Dorchester was arrested at Andrew Sq., station and William Hidalgo, 18, of Mattapan was arrested at Forest Hills MBTA station for Illegal Possession of a Firearm. Both subjects appeared in court on today's date and were formally arraigned.

The Transit Police Department will continue to provide the best policing service as possible to our riding public and fellow MBTA employees.

Revere man arrested for Open & Gross Conduct.

On February 26, 2016 at approximately 6:30pm in the vicinity of Longwood Avenue in Boston a female passenger was traveling on a Route 65 bus when she observed a male, seated in close proximity to her,  watching a video on his cellular telephone and masturbating.

On March 15, 2016 after a thorough investigation by Transit Police detectives Francis Costa, 47, of Revere was arrested at his residence for Open & Gross Conduct. Costa appeared in Roxbury District Court the following day and was formally arraigned.

Dynamic Duo arrested for attempting sell a stolen bike back to its owner..

On March 14, 2016 at approximately 5PM members of the Transit Police Point of Entry Policing  Team were at the MBTA's South Station Commuter Rail when they were approached by a victim of a bicycle larceny. The victim explained his bicycle was stolen 2 days prior from Back Bay station. The victim located his bicycle on a Craigslist posting, advertising its sale, and contacted the seller. The poster agreed to sell the bicycle and instructed the victim to meet at South Station (Red Line entrance) to conduct the transaction. Shortly thereafter the officers observed two males (later identified as Patrick Concannon, 28, of Braintree and Terry Carter, 28, of Boston.) walking towards South Station in possession of the victim's bike. Officers approached the duo and placed them into custody for Receiving Stolen Property. The bicycle was returned to its rightful owner. Concannon and Carter were transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. They both appeared in Boston Municipal Court-Central Division on today's date.

Missing Juvenile Alert

The Boston Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 8-year-old Heaven Angle-Parra. Heaven was last seen today, Monday, March 7, 2016 at about 5:30 PM in the area of the Higginson/Lewis School at 131 Walnut Avenue, Roxbury. Heaven was said to have walked out of school prior to dismissal. Heaven is described as an 8-year-old Hispanic female with brown hair. She was last seen wearing a navy blue uniform shirt, khaki pants, a pink sweater, and pink shoes. Anyone with information as to her whereabouts is urged to call 911 or contact District B-2 (Roxbury) detectives at (617) 343-4275. If you see Heaven  Angle-Parra on the MBTA contact the Transit Police immediately at 617-222-1212.

Important Notice for Mansfield MBTA customers.

Due to an earlier Amtrak trespasser fatality, the Mansfield commuter rail station will be CLOSED tomorrow morning( March 3, 2016). Drivers are advised to go to Route 128 parking garage to catch the inbound commuter rail. There will be limited parking at Mansfield with limited busing service to Sharon. All Providence Line passengers can expect delays traveling in-bound. Delays could extend into the PM rush. Passengers should monitor T-Alerts and Twitter (@mbta_cr) for updates throughout the day. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Access to the train station (Crocker St.) and Mansfield Ave. will continue to be closed until further notice. Limited parking will be available at the Winthrop St. Lot and River St. lots. NO trains will be stopping in Mansfield.
