Boston man arrested for unlicensed possession of a firearm.

 On January 21, 2023 at approximately 4PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call for an unknown male trespassing on the right of way at the MBTA's Wellington Station. Upon arrival the officer encountered the male that was alleged to have trespassed on the right of way, later identified as Joshua Chavez, 21, of Boston. Officers engaged Chavez in conversation and he admitted to being on the right of way. Based on the officer's observations of Chavez during this encounter the officer subsequently recovered a loaded 1911 firearm, hammer cocked with a bullet in the chamber, from Chavez' waistband. Chavez was subsequently booked at TPD HQ for unlicensed possession of a loaded firearm, unlicensed possession of ammunition and possession of a Class A substance-to wit Heroin.

TPD arrest group involved in assault and robberies on MBTA.

 On January 12, 2023 at approximately 5PM Transit Police Operations received a report of a male victim being assaulted by a group, 3 males and 1 female, one of the offenders being armed with a crowbar. This alleged assault occurred at the Harvard Sq. MBTA station however the victim reported it upon arrival at Park Street Station. The offending group continued to travel to Kenmore Station from Park St where they attacked and robbed another victim while on board a Green Line Trolley.  The group allegedly were also threatening several commuters on board the trolley with violence. The marauding group continued to travel to Fenway where they robbed and beat another victim, on the platform, with a crowbar causing facial injuries to the victim. After this assault and robbery the group fled onto the right of way heading in the direction of Brookline.  

Multiple Transit Police units descended upon the area and conducted an exhaustive area search locating three individuals involved in the assaults and robberies. Placed into custody were PARRISH JONES, 25, of Dorchester, WILLIAM WINDHAM, 21, of Brockton and a female juvenile, 16, of Dorchester. All three will face Assault & Battery w/a Dangerous Weapon causing Bodily Injury, Assault & Battery and Armed Robbery charges. All three were transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. 

Investigation is ongoing relative to this matter.
