Confirmed fatality. Somerville

On July 31, 2020 at approximately 1PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the vicinity of Beacon Street in Somerville for a report of a person possibly struck by an  MBTA CR train. Multiple TPD Units responded along with Somerville Fire and EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information. A male, age unknown at this time, while intentionally on the right of way was struck by a outbound train on the Fitchburg line. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained. TPD detectives are on scene and investigating. Foul Play is NOT suspected.

Fatality confirmed at Mishawum Station Woburn.

On July 24, 2020 at approximately 4:15PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Mishawum CR Station for a report of a person possibly struck by an MBTA CR train. Multiple TPD Units responded along with Woburn Fire and EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information. A male, age unknown at this time, while intentionally on the right of way was struck by a northbound train. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained. TPD detectives are on scene and investigating. Foul Play is NOT suspected.

A bus diversion has been set up.
