Boston arrested for Firearm Violations.

 On August 28, 2022 at approximately 7AM Transit Police officers recovered a backpack at the MBTA's Copley Sq. Station. Inside the backpack officers located a 9mm handgun with a high capacity magazine, laser sight affixed and ammunition The alleged owner of the backpack, later identified as Arnoldo Lemus, 20, of  Boston returned to the station frantically looking for his backpack. Lemus attempted to claim the bag from a station official and then TPD officers intervened. Subsequent investigation revealed Lemus in possession of the backpack and boarding a trolley forgetting his backpack on the platform.  Lemus was placed into custody for Unlawful possession of a firearm, Unlawful Possession of a High Capacity feeding device and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Dorchester man wanted for Assault to Murder punches out MBTA Trolley window.

 On August 28, 2022 at approximately 1:40PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Mattapan station to speak with a trolley operator reporting an unknown male punched the trolley's window out. Upon arrival officers met with the reporting party who confirmed a male without provocation punched out the trolley's window while at the Milton High Speed Line station. The operator also provided a description of this individual and officers conducted an area search locating a male later identified as Jhovan Louis-Jeune, 33, of Dorchester at Milton Station attempting to board a trolley. 

Louis-Jeune was positively identified as the offending male and officers subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for Louis-Jeune's arrest issued out of Quincy District Court for Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon & Unarmed Robbery, Dorchester District Court for Assault to Murder, Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Brockton District Court for Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, Vandalize Property, Shoplifting and Larceny from a Building. 

Louis-Jeune was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Maine woman arrested for Trafficking Heroin. MBTA South Station

 On August 25, 2022 at approximately 12:45PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District arrested Jennifer Shaker, 33, of Lewiston, Maine at the MBTA's South Station Bus Terminal. Shaker was found to be in possession of over 20 grams (Trafficking weight) of what is believed to be Heroin and almost 2 grams of what is believed to be Cocaine. Shaker allegedly had the controlled narcotics in her travel bag which she left unattended in the buses' bathroom. When Shaker came to claim her bag she was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

2nd of 3 suspects wanted for Robbery placed into custody by TPD.

 On August 25, 2022 at approximately 9:15PM Transit Police officers received a radio call for an active affray at the MBTA's Central Sq. Station. Once on scene officers were sorting out the incident with the parties alleged to be involved. One of the males, later identified as Dominic Brewster, 35, of Boston had a warrant  in existence for his arrest issued out of Cambridge District Court for Indecent Exposure. Another male, later identified as Jamie Butler, 27, of Charlestown, alleged to have been involved in the affray was recognized by an observant Transit Police officer as a wanted person in a Robbery investigation we posted about prior. (see posting here)

Both Brewster and Butler was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Arrest made in Robbery Investigation. Government Center.

 On August 20, 2022 at approximately 11:46PM 2 males and 1 female approached a permitted vendor/victim located at the MBTA's Government Center Blue Line. The vendor/victim, who sells various forms of jewelry, noticed the males were trying on different necklaces and taking photo's of themselves posing with said merchandise. As an eastbound Blue Line train arrived in the station the 2 males still wearing the necklaces around their necks began to walk away and were about to board the train without paying for the necklaces. At this time the vendor/victim attempted to prevent them from doing so when the female in the group began to, with a closed fist, strike the victim in the face several times. The trio was able to make good their escape and did not pay for the jewelry. 

Subsequent to an investigation by Transit Police Detectives, Brandon Frazier, 35, of Boston was alleged/identified as one of the males involved in the incident described above. On August 24, 2022 at approximately 12:50PM a very observant TPD officer performing a Orange Line Shuttle Bus/Traffic post detail spotted Frazier outside of Government Center station and placed him into custody. Frazier was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. 

Investigation remains ongoing.

Dispute over noise leads to an arrest.

 On August 23, 2022 at approximately 4:30PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the corner of Massachusetts Ave and Boylston Street for an assault in progress onboard an MBTA bus. Upon arrival officers were met by the victim who relayed the following: while travelling on an MBTA bus the victim was having a conversation on her cell phone. During this time the victim alleged another female, later identified as Shauntay Simmons, 37, of Boston was consuming alcohol and being very loud. The victim, unable to continue her conversation due to Simmons' conduct, told her to "Shut up".  Simmons took exception to this and proceeded to strike the victim in the face and slammed her head into the buses' window a few times. The victim suffered abrasions and swelling about her face. It was alleged Simmons fled when the bus pulled over. 

Officers received a detailed description of Simmons and conducted an area search locating her on Massachusetts Avenue. The victim positively identified Simmons as her assailant and Simmons was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Bad timing for Somerville man.

 On August 16, 2022 at approximately 4PM at the MBTA Davis Sq. station an alert Transit Police officer observed a male, later identified as Derek Roy, 38, of Somerville attempting to cut the cable lock that secured a GTX Scooter to the bike rack. Officers immediately confronted Roy and he claimed the scooter belong to his "friend". Unfortunately for Roy the scooter's true owner happened along the scene to retrieve his scooter and informed officers he had never met Roy prior. Officers also observed Roy to be in possession of burglarious tools and subsequently discovered there was an outstanding warrant in existence for his arrest issued out Fall River District Court for Vandalism. 

Roy was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Brocton man accuses fellow passenger of picture taking. Strikes him with umbrella. Quincy Center.

 On August 15, 2022 at approximately 7:15AM Transit Police Officers assigned to the South District were on patrol at the MBTA's Quincy Center Station. While there they were approached by an MBTA customer service agent who reported a male was struck on the head by another male and pointed the officers in the direction of the incident. Officers immediately proceeded in that direction and located a male victim, 60 years of age, who reported the following information; The victim while walking towards the fare gates was asked by another male, later identified as Marvin Hunt, 41, of Brockton "Why are you taking my photo?". The victim denied doing so and was uncertain what Hunt was referencing. As a response Hunt struck the victim over the head with his umbrella and walked away. 

Officers located Hunt and placed him into custody for Assault & Battery Dangerous Weapon. Hunt was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Rape suspect sought. STEVEN WADE COFFEY.

 Transit Police detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for STEVEN WADE COFFEY, d.o.b 08/30/1994, 6'03 175lbs for Rape. We allege the Assault and Rape occurred at the MBTA's Tuft's Medical Station on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 2:30AM. Coffey, believed to be homeless, is known to frequent the Downtown area of Boston. 80 year old male assaulted at MBTA Park Street Station.

 On August 12, 2022 at approximately 10AM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Park Street Station Green Line for a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival officers located an 80 year old male victim laying on the ground and bleeding from his face. Officers immediately rendered aid and received the following information: The victim observed a male, later identified as James Walsh, 66, of Holbrook in possession of a bag the victim claimed was his. The victim approached Walsh in a attempt to reclaim his bag and a altercation ensued. Ultimately the victim alleged Walsh struck him with a closed fist knocking him to the ground then proceeded to punch and kick the victim several more times about his head and body. A concerned citizen pulled Walsh away from the victim and TPD officers arrived. 

Walsh was placed into custody for Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon Shod Foot and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. The victim was transported by Boston EMS to a local area hospital for emergency care.

Boston man arrested at MBTA State Street Station after he draws attention to himself.

 On August 5, 2022 at approximately 7:30AM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's State Street Station for a report of a naked male in the entrance to the Orange Line causing alarm in other passengers. Upon arrival officers observed a male, later identified as Vashon Roberts, 44, of Boston clothed in only his underwear. Officers approached Roberts and inquired if he was okay. Roberts responded by inquiring if everything was okay with the officers and initially furnished a false name. Officers explained they were called there for a naked male causing other passengers to be concerned. Roberts pointed out he was not naked and had his underwear on. The officers acknowledged that fact and attempted to see if Roberts wanted any services or any other way they could assist him. Roberts denied any offer of assistance. Subsequently officers discovered there were several warrants in existence for Roberts arrest issued out of  Roxbury District Court for Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Ayer District Court for Uttering False Checks and Dorchester District Court for Violation of a Domestic Abuse Prevention Order. Roberts was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
