Middleborough man arrested for assaulting Commuter Rail train conductor.

 On September 22, 2021 at approximately 5:20PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the Braintree MBTA Commuter Rail Station for a report of a male passenger who assaulted a Keolis conductor after he was asked to put a mask on. Upon arrival officers were informed by the victim he requested a male, later identified as Daniel Libby, 40, of Middelborough to put a mask on. Libby responded with several expletives and refused to place a mask on. It was then alleged Libby shoved the victim and used his shoulder to force his way into the train. 

Officers informed Libby he had to exit the train and furnish his name as the victim wish to pursue assault charges. Libby refused to cooperate with the officers and would not comply with any requests. Libby was ultimately placed into custody for Assault & Battery on a Public Official and transported to TPD-HQ for the arrest booking process.

TPD intercept two males for their alleged theft of numerous items.

 On September 21, 2021 at approximately 7:50AM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received information a business located in Quincy had several thousand dollars worth of merchandise stolen from them and it was believed the two males responsible boarded a Red Line train with their ill gotten gains. Based on a description provided officers intercepted the alleged perpetrators at the MBTA's Andrew Sq. Station. The males were in possession of various items still in its original packaging. Based on an investigation the two males, later identified as Rasheed Suarez, 41, of Roxbury and David Flecha, 32, of Worcester will be summoned into court for Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Subsequent Offence. It was also determined Suarez was in violation for his failure to register as a Sex Offender. Saurez was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

 Identification needed on the subject depicted within relative to an Unarmed Robbery at Mass Ave. MBTA Station on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at approximately 8:52 AM.  The victim was kicked and struck with a closed fist several times and had her cell phone forcefully taken.

Boston man arrested for Assault to Murder for incident at MBTA Maverick Station.

 On August 29, 2021 at approximately 1:30AM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Maverick Sq. Station for a report of a male who was allegedly stabbed. Upon arrival officers located a male victim who had sustained life threatening stab wounds about his body. The victim was rushed to a local area hospital via Boston EMS. Witnesses reported the victim was engaged in a verbal dispute with another man while traveling on the train when suddenly the assailant produced a knife and began assaulting the victim.


Based upon an investigation conducted by Transit Police detectives a JAVIER GARCIA, 40, of Boston was placed into custody on September 8, 2021. Garcia was transported to TPD-HQ for the arrest booking process. Garcia will face Assault to Murder and Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon resulting in Serious Bodily Injury charges in Suffolk Superior Court.

To catch a predator.

 On August 31, 2021 at approximately 10:45PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Orient Heights station for an unknown disturbance. Upon arrival officers were met by a male who informed the officers he produces an internet series in which he catches child predators. The reporting male party pointed out a male, later identified Jose Hernandez, 36, of Chelsea and informed the officers Hernandez was there to meet, who he (Hernandez) believed was a 14 year old boy to engage in sexual activity with. The reporting male party showed the officers numerous incriminating and explicit text messages exchanged between Hernandez and who he (Hernandez) believed was a minor child. The reporting male party also displayed explicit photo's allegedly sent by Hernandez to who he (Hernandez) believed was a minor child. 

After additional investigatory steps Officers placed Hernandez into custody for Enticement of a Minor Child Under Age 16 and transported him to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
