Fugitive from New Jersey arrested by TPD at South Station.

On January 30, 2019 at approximately 1:30PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's South Station CR, track 1, for a disturbance. Upon arrival officers were met a Keolis conductor who informed them a male, later identified as Taylor Cox, 31, of Stoughton requested to ride on the train for free. When the conductor refused his request Cox became agitated, aggressive and shouted foul language at him. Officers approached Cox and after identifying him discovered there was an extraditable warrant for his arrest issued from Bergen County, New Jersey for 2 counts of Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, Threats and Resisting Arrest.


Cox was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

TPD arrest fare evader wanted in New Bedford.

On January 28, 2019 at approximately 6:55PM members of the Transit Police Crime Suppression Team were at the MBTA's South Station Red Line fare gates conducting fare evasion enforcement. While there they observed a female, later identified as Alexandria Mullen, 34, of New Bedford fare evade by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Mullen for the purpose of issuing a citation and subsequently discovered there were two warrants in existence for Mullen's arrest issued from New Bedford District Court for Felony Receiving Stolen Property & Misdemeanor Larceny Under 1,200.00.


Mullen was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Natick man arrested for beating his dog at Ashmont Station.

On January 22, 2019 at approximately 6:45PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Ashmont Station for a report of a man beating his dog.  Upon arrival officers were met by witnesses who pointed out a male, later identified as Michael Webb, 26, of Natick. Witnesses informed the officers while on the southbound platform Webb used his dog's leash and began to viciously whip and beat the animal about it's body.

As officers approached Webb, who is approximately 6'7 and 300lbs, he suggested the officers needed more than two officers to take him. Additional officers responded and Webb was placed into custody for Cruelty to Animals and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. During this process it was discovered there was an warrant in existence for Webb's arrest issued out of Boston Municpal Court for Cruelty to Animals.

City of Boston Animal Control responded and took custody of Coco, a mixed breed dog.

Revere man caught fare evading arrested for warrants.

On January 16, 2019 at approximately 5:30pm Transit Police officers assigned to the Department's Crime Suppression Team were at the MBTA's Andrew Sq. conducting point of entry policing. While there they observed a male, later identified as John Maclean ,38, of Revere fare evade by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Maclean for the purpose of issuing a citation and subsequently discovered there was two outstanding warrants for his arrest issued from Chelsea District Court for Drug Possession and Reckless Endangerment of a Child. Maclean was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

MBTA employee verbally assaulted with racial epithet.

On January 8, 2019 at approximately 10:20AM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's DTC Orange Line platform for a report of an MBTA employee being harassed by an unknown party. Upon arrival officers met with an MBTA employee, who is African American, and relayed the following: while on the Orange Line north bound platform he (employee) observed a white male standing dangerously close to the yellow line. The employee concerned for the male's safety advised him to stand back so he would be a safe distance from the right of way. The male responded by shouting a racial epithet and behaving in a disruptive and disorderly manner towards the employee. The employee then requested Transit Police respond. The male fled prior to TPD arrival.


Officers conducted an area search but were unable to locate the male. The incident will be further investigated.


Transit Police Chief Green stated " This is a very disappointing and ugly incident. MBTA employees should be free from any form verbal assault particularly involving one's race. I will ensure this incident is investigated and the appropriate action taken. The TPD has zero tolerance for action, however slight, directed towards someone's race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or any other protected class to degrade or demean while on the MBTA system whether as an employee or a patron ."

Billerica man refuses to stop for TPD sergeant.

On January 5, 2019 at approximately 8PM a Transit Police sergeant was working a detail post at North Station as a result of the Boston Bruins game. While on the back side of TD Garden in close proximity to the MBTA parking lot the sergeant observed a black pick up truck, being operated by Paul Brouillette, 56, of Billerica back out of a parking space and strike the sergeant's personal vehicle and proceeded to drive away. The sergeant shouted commands for Brouillette to stop, however the commands were to no avail. The sergeant was able to catch up to Brouillette's vehicle at the exit ramp to the parking lot and requested Brouillette's paperwork. Brouillette denied striking the sergeant's vehicle and sped off at a high rate of speed.

The TPD sergeant requested assistance from TPD units and gave Brouillette's last location of flight. Responding officers were able to locate Brouillette traveling on 93 North and conducted a stop of his vehicle in the vicinity of exit 32. Officers noted Brouillette exhibited signs of alcohol intoxication and ultimately placed him into custody. Officers located a .38 calibre handgun, fully loaded, in the armrest of Brouillette's vehicle. (*Brouillette did possess a License to Carry)

Brouillette was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
