Boston Man assaults T operator/Arrested

On October 16th, 2012 at approximately 7:45 pm Transit Police officers assigned to Area 3 were dispatched to Dudley and Hampden Street's in Roxbury for a report of a male who had just punched out a MBTA bus door window. Upon arrival officers were informed that a male, later identified as Carlos Ramirez-Rodrigue, 38 of Boston,MA., boarded a MBTA bus at the intersection of Blue Hill Ave and Dudley Street and immediately became confrontational and combative towards the operator. The operator requested Ramirez-Rodrigue get off the bus, which he did. However while doing so Ramirez-Rodrigue began spitting several times in the operator's direction. As soon as Ramirez-Rodrigue was off the bus the operator closed the doors. At this time Ramirez-Rodrigue punched the door window several times ultimately shattering the glass. Ramirez-Rodrigue fled the scene and was stopped by Boston Police officers who notified Transit Police. Transit Police placed Ramirez-Rodrigue into custody for Malicious Destruction of Property and transported him to Transit Police HQ for processing, usually the story ends here.

Once back at HQ Ramirez-Rodrigue again became combative, this time towards the officers violently attacking them. Officers were able to bring Ramirez-Rodrigue under control. During the booking process Ramirez-Rodrigue was found to be in possession of Marijuana. Ramirez-Rodrigue was additionally charged with Assault & Battery on a Police Officer (2) counts and issued a civil citation for the marijuana. Ramiriez-Rodrigue will appear in Roxbury District Court sometime today.
