Man arrested for Assault-South Station

Ronald Bellerice
On December 20, 2013 at approximately 7:50 pm Transit Police officers while on patrol in the South Station Commuter Rail were approached by a concerned citizen who stated there was a male urinating on the wall just outside the McDonald's Restaurant. The officers proceeded in that direction and while en route were approached by other patrons who informed the officers it appeared there was an altercation about to happen near the McDonald's Restaurant (same location as the male urinating). Upon arrival of the officers they were met by a male victim who informed the officers he (victim) was just slashed with a box cutter and pointed to another male as the perpetrator. Officers observed a slice mark on the victims jacket however there was NO penetration of the skin. Officers approached the other male, later identified as Ronald Bellerice, 43 of Mattapan and recovered a box cutter from his pocket. A witness came forward and stated they observed Bellerice urinating on the wall prior to slashing at the victim with a box cutter. Officers placed Bellerice into custody for Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and transported him to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Bellerice is expected to be arraigned sometime on 12/23/2013 in Boston Municipal Court-Central Division.
