Grinch like behavior lands man in Jail.

On December 24, 2013 at approximately 5:20 pm Transit Police officers working in Area 4 received a radio call to respond to Forest Hills MBTA station for a robbery in progress. Upon arrival officers were met by a female victim and an MBTA employee. The victim informed the officers, while in the lobby area of the station, she placed a shopping type bag on the ground containing her cellular telephone, purse, cash and other personal items. Suddenly a male grabbed the shopping bag and began to quickly walk away. The victim yelled out to the would be Grinch and chased after him. The victim was able to catch up to and retrieve her belongings from the male near the station's entrance/exit doors.

Based on the description provided officers located a male, later identified as Andre Rivera, 60 of Jamaica Plain, on the pathway leading to South Street. The victim positively identified Rivera as the man whole had stolen her bag and Rivera was placed into custody for Larceny from the Person and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Rivera is expected to be arraigned sometime today in West Roxbury District Court.
