TPD Arrest Activity 48 hrs.

On January 21st, 2013 at approximately 7:15 p.m. Transit Police officers from Area 3 were on patrol at Andrew Sq. MBTA station when their attention was drawn to a male, later identified as Brian Cunneen, 21 of Roxbury, loitering and smoking in the bus way. This area is clearly marked with signage prohibiting smoking. Officers approached Cunneen for the purpose of issuing a smoking citation, a subsequent investigation revealed two outstanding warrants in existence for Cunneen's arrest. Officers placed Cunneen into custody for the warrants: Breaking & Entering in the Daytime w/intent to Commit a Felony and Larceny over 250.00 issued from Lowell District Court. Cunneen was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest/booking process.

On January 19th, 2013 at approximately 6 p.m. Transit Police officers from Area 3 were on patrol at Andrew Sq. MBTA station when their attention was drawn to vehicle being operated by a male, later identified as William Sandford, 37 of Princeton, New Jersey. Sandford was driving through the bus way in a erratic and accelerated manner. (To protect MBTA patrons and the public at large MBTA bus ways are designated as "Excluded Way" as written in Massachusetts Law Chapter 90 Section 16. Only MBTA buses and emergency vehicles are permitted to utilize MBTA bus ways.) Officers conducted a traffic stop of Sandford. After conversing with Sandford officers believed his driving ability was impaired due to alcohol consumption. After conducting a series of field sobriety tests Sandford was placed into custody for Operating while Under the Influence of Liquor and transported to Transit Police HQ. Sandford's blood alcohol level (.20) was twice the legal limit. Sandford is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court sometime today.

On January 19th, 2013 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Transit Police officers from Area 3 were on patrol at Ashmont MBTA station. While there an officer observed a male who had a warrant out for his arrest. Officers did place Michael Young, 36 of Roxbury into custody based on the warrant (Threats to Commit a Crime) issued from Roxbury District Court. Young was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest/booking process and will appear in Roxbury District Court sometime today.

On January 18th, 2013 Transit Police officers from Area 4 were on patrol at Back Bay MBTA station when their attention was drawn to two individuals trespassing beyond the area of Track 7. Officers caught up to both parties later identified as Steven Odom, 44 of Boston and Marian Clark, 53 also of Boston and informed them of the danger of what they were doing. A subsequent investigation revealed the Sex Offender Registry Board reported Odom, a Level 3 sex offender, failed to register as required by law. Odom was placed into custody for failing to register as a sex offender and was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest/booking process. Odom will be additionally charged with trespassing. Clark will be summoned into Boston Municipal Court court for trespassing. Odom will appear in Boston Municipal Court sometime today.
