Person struck by Acela Train in South Attleboro

On January 2nd, 2013 at approximately 1:15PM Transit Police officers assigned to Area 3 received a radio call to respond South Attleboro Commuter Rail Station for person possibly struck by an Acela Train. Multiple Transit Police officers responded along Attleboro Police, Fire and EMS. Transit Police officers on scene report the following preliminary information : in the area of South Attleboro MBTA Commuter Rail Station, at 1270 Newport Ave, Attleboro, MA,  on Track #2, Transit Police officers located a female, age unknown at this time, who was struck by an inbound Amtrak Acela Express in the Northeast Corridor and MBTA Providence/Stoughton Commuter Rail Line. Victim was pronounced deceased.  Transit Police detectives and representatives from the Bristol County DA's Office are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
