South Boston man causes alarm with Paintball guns.

On February 19, 2020 at approximately 3:30PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call for a man carrying an assault rifle onboard a southbound Orange Line train. Officers met the train as it was pulling into State Street station. Several TPD officers responded and safely cleared passengers from the area. Based on a description provided officers quickly located the male inside the train car. The male, later identified as Joseph Driscoll, 41, of South Boston, was in possession of two duffle bags which contained two Paintball guns resembling long rifles. Driscoll was also in possession of fireworks.

Subsequently officers discovered there were warrants in existence for Driscoll's arrest issued by Quincy District Court for Shoplifting and Narcotics violations and Dorchester District Court for a Narcotic violation. Driscoll was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
