Boston man assaults elderly person. Arrest made

Aaron Callender-Maloney
On August 10, 2019 at approximately 7:20PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District were on patrol at the MBTA's Butler Station. As the trolley entered the female operator asked the officer for assistance. As soon as the officer boarded the trolley an unknown male fled. At this time the operator informed the officer of the following: Two unknown males boarded her trolley at Ashmont Station, one was carrying a bicycle. The operator informed the male he could not have the bicycle on board. The second male, later identified as Aaron Callender-Maloney, 26, of Boston became irate and remained on the trolley. Callender-Maloney threaten the operator as the trolley continued on stating " Don't think I'm going to let that slide". At one point the male removed his shirt and took a position close to the operator. At this time a 77 year old male victim attempted to calm Callender-Maloney down and diffuse the situation. Callender-Maloney responded by striking the victim with a closed fist in the face and then slapping him twice.

Determined officers conducted an area search and located Callender-Maloney, still shirtless, on River Street where they placed him into custody
for Assault & Battery on an Elderly Person.
