On August 3, 2017 at approximately 8PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Quincy Center Station for a report of an assault. Upon arrival officers were met by the victim, a 31 year old male. The victim informed the officers of the following: He was recently diagnosed with an inoperable sarcoma tumor and while at Quincy Center station a female he was familiar with approached and engaged him in conversation. The victim believes the female was feigning interest in his current health condition to get physically close to him. While conversing the female removed the victim's wallet from his pocket. Upon noticing this the victim demanded she return his wallet. The female assailant responded by striking the victim in the face and fleeing from the area.
A swift investigation conducted by Transit Police detectives resulted in the identitfication of the suspect : Kellilynn Johnson, 28, of Quincy. Unrelated to this matter detectives discovered Johnson had a warrant in existence for her arrest issued out of Quincy District Court for Assault & Battery 3 counts. On August 4, 2017 TPD Detectives arrested Johnson at her residence on the warrants as well as the Assault and Robbery that occurred the previous night. Johnson was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
