Fare evader with hundreds of dollars worth of stolen property arrested at Andrew Sq. MBTA

Jeffrey Carroll
On August 10, 2017 at approximately 10:30PM Transit Police officers were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Andrew Sq. station. While there they had their attention drawn to a male, later identified as Jeffrey Carroll, 27, of Boston. Carroll entered through fare gates without paying his fare. Officers approached Carroll for the purpose of issuing a citation. At this time officers observed Carroll wearing Gucci sunglasses with the price tag of 345.00 still affixed. Carroll was also holding in his right hand another pair of Versace sunglasses with a price tag of 245.00 still affixed. Upon further inspection Carroll was wearing a pair of shorts with the Anti-Theft tag secured to the back.

Carroll's version of why the price tags and security device was still attached did not make much sense and was subsequently placed into custody for Receiving Stolen Property Over 250.00.

Carroll was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
