Man w/suspended License passes trolley on right-Arrested

On September 11, 2013, in response to community concerns relative to vehicles passing stopped MBTA trolley's on the right as passengers disembark, the Transit Police Mobile Operations Patrol officers from Area 4 were conducting trolley enforcement in the Huntington Avenue section of Boston. At approximately 10:30 a.m. a Green Line trolley was stopped at the intersection of Huntington Avenue and Parker Hill Avenue with all its doors open as passengers were entering and exiting. At this time officers observed a 2012 Audi being operated by Deven Shah, 39 of North Attleboro, pass the trolley on the right hand side. Officers conducted a stop of Shah and subsequently discovered his right to operate a motor vehicle in Massachusetts was suspended due to a previous Operating Under the Influence arrest.

Shah was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Shah is expected to be arriagned sometime today in West Roxbury District Court for Operating after Suspension and was issued a citation for Passing a Trolley on the right.
