Bronx woman wanted in New Jersey draws attention to herself at MBTA South Station.

On July 14, 2022 at approximately 9:30AM Transit Police MOP Unit officers were on patrol at the MBTA's South Station Commuter Rail lobby when they were alerted by a concerned citizen of a female who was harassing another commuter and actually spat upon that person. Officers immediately proceeded in that direction and encountered the offending female, later identified as Pia Weber, 51, of the Bronx, NY. The victim did not wish to pursue any charges against Weber, however officers discovered there was an extraditable warrant for Weber's arrest issued out of the Hudson County Sheriffs Office in New Jersey for Assaulting a Police Officer.

Transit Police Operations Center confirmed law enforcement officials in New Jersey were still interested in executing the warrant. Officers arrested Weber for being a Fugitive from Justice and transported her to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
