Trespasser struck Billerica.


On November 7, 2018 at approximately 7:25AM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to Billerica for a report of a person possibly struck by a train. Multiple TPD units responded along with Billerica Fire and EMS. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A male, age unknown at this time, while trespassing on the right of way on the New Hampshire/Maine Line in the vicinity of Pond Street Bridge, Billerica was struck by an outbound to Lowell MBTA commuter rail train. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.



Transit Police detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. Foul play is NOT suspected.


There were approximately 17 passengers on board. Service will be interrupted.
