On November 24, 2018 at approximately 4:55PM a male attempted to board, without paying his fare, an MBTA Route 30 bus at Mattapan station. The operator advised the male he would need to pay his fare or he could not board. The male responded by screaming racial epithets at the bus operator and generally threatening him.
As the bus operator was waiting to pull out onto Blue Hill Avenue from inside the station the previously referenced male threw a rock striking the bus operator in the torso area. The offending male was screaming obscenities as he did so. The bus operator was not seriously injured in the assault.
Subsequent to an investigation by Transit Police detectives Daniel Moreno, 21, of Dedham was arrested for Assault & Battery Dangerous Weapon. Moreno was arrested on 11/28/2018.
