On November 5, 2018 at approximately 4:21PM a Transit Police officer assigned to North District was on patrol at the MBTA's Oak Grove station. While there his attention was drawn to a male, later identified as Norbert Berthiaume, 28, of Medford. Berthiaume was at the bike rack and in the process of trying extricate a secured bicycle by means of a sheet metal sheer. The officer immediately proceeded in his direction, upon seeing the officer Bethiaume fled. The officer gave chase and with the assistance of a good Samaritan was able to apprehend and place Bethiaume into custody. Bethiaume was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
During the booking process it was discovered Bethiaume had several warrants in existence for his arrest issued from East Brookfield District Court for OUI Drugs, Possession of Class A Drugs, Possession of Class B drugs and Boston Municipal Court for Possession of Class B drugs.
