Salem man arrested for Assault/Dangerous Weapon.

On October 31, 2018 at approximately 6:45PM Transit Police officers on assignment at Salem Commuter Rail station for the Haunted Happenings festivities received a radio call for an assaultive unruly male arriving shortly on an MBTA commuter rail train. Upon arrival of the train officers were approached by several witnesses who pointed out a male, later identified as Christopher Leclerc, 25, of Salem. Witnesses further stated Leclerc was intimidating passengers, challenging people to fist fights, consuming alcohol and invading others personal space in an aggressive manner. A male passenger requested Leclerc cease bothering passengers and to calm down. Leclerc responded by producing a knife. taking a fighting position and threatening harm to the victim.


Officers placed Leclerc into custody, recovered a knife from his pocket as well as prescription narcotics in someone else's name. Leclerc was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Leclerc charges are the following:  Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) and Possession of Class E drugs.
