Malden arrested for Robbery attempt

Mohamed Noor
On August 27, 2014 at approximately 12:15am Transit Police officers working in Area 2 received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Sullivan Sq. station for an assault in progress. Upon arrival officers were met by a 53 year old male victim who relayed he was struck about the face several times by an unknown male. The victim further stated he was approached in the busway by his assailant, later identified as Mohamed Noor (Noor is known to TPD-see previous posting here), 28, of Malden who demanded money. The victim informed Noor he did not have any money and upon hearing this Noor began to physically beat the victim knocking him to the ground.

Once on the ground Noor continued his violent assault, fortunately the victim was able to break free and ran to an MBTA bus where a quick acting bus operator was able to close the door behind him preventing Noor, who was in pursuit, from entering. Noor began to pound on the bus demanding the operator open the door. Upon hearing approaching police sirens in the background Noor abandoned his attempt to gain entry and vacated the area. Transit Police officers, with the assistance from an MBTA employee, located Noor in the lower busway sitting on board an MBTA bus. Noor had removed his shirt in an attempt to deter law enforcement from identifying him. Officers removed Noor from the bus and placed him into custody for  Assault with Intent to Rob (Unarmed) and transported him to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Noor refused to cooperate with officers providing several false names and other personal identifiers. Noor will be additionally charged with providing a False Name at Booking.

The victim was treated on scene by Boston EMS and transported to a local area hospital for further evaluation.
