On April 2, 2018 at approximately 9:30PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to Mansfield for a report of a person possibly struck by a MBTA Commuter Rail train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Mansfield Fire and EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a male, age unknown, while trespassing on the right of way in the vicinity of ,Norfolk Street, Mansfield was struck by a Providence bound train on track 1. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.
TPD Detectives are on scene and investigating along with the Bristol County DA's Office. Foul play is NOT suspected.
