On April 25, 2018 at approximately 10:40PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to Commonwealth Ave and Washington Street for a report of an assault on board an MBTA trolley. Upon arrival officers were met by a female victim who relayed the following: while traveling on a Green Line trolley a male, later identified as Louis Bernal, 67, of Brighton took a seat next to the victim. Bernal began to make inappropriate offers to her. Subsequent to that Bernal Indecently Assaulted the victim. The victim brought attention to what was happening and the Transit Police were notified.Officers located Bernal, who was still seated on board the trolley, and being watched over by two fellow passengers until TPD arrived. Bernal was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
