On April 2, 2015 at approximately 9:25pm Transit Police officers working in Area 3 were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Andrew Sq. station. While there they had their attention drawn to a male, later identified as
Jason Gachignard, 30, of Lynn who was smoking a cigarette within clearly posted No Smoking signs. Officers approached Gachignard for the purpose of issuing a citation and subsequently discovered Gachignard was in possession of over 1,000 dollars worth of stolen merchandise from Home Depot. Gachignard was placed into custody for Larceny Over 250.00 and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
