On April 8th, 2015 at approximately 12:18am Transit Police officers working in Area 2 received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Community College station for a report of two males harassing patrons on board an Orange Line train. Upon arrival officers were directed to train car #1232 and boarded. Once inside officers were met by a 39 year old male victim who stated the following; while travelling on a northbound orange line train two males, later identified as
Sadiq Elmi,36, of Charlestown and
Ali Ali, 28, of Roxbury were harassing everyone on the train and subsequently assaulted and attempted to relieve the victim of his possession. The victim successfully warded off the attempt.

Officers approached Elmi and Ali, who were still inside the train, and noted the strong odor of alcohol about their persons. Elmi and Ali were combative with the officers and verbally threatened the reporting victim with physical harm for speaking with the police. Elmi and Ali were placed into custody for Assault to Rob-Unarmed and Intimidation of a Witness. Elmi and Ali were transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process, it is expected they will be arraigned sometime today in Charlestown District Court.
