Bad timing for Somerville man.

On August 16, 2022 at approximately 4PM at the MBTA Davis Sq. station an alert Transit Police officer observed a male, later identified as Derek Roy, 38, of Somerville attempting to cut the cable lock that secured a GTX Scooter to the bike rack. Officers immediately confronted Roy and he claimed the scooter belong to his "friend". Unfortunately for Roy the scooter's true owner happened along the scene to retrieve his scooter and informed officers he had never met Roy prior. Officers also observed Roy to be in possession of burglarious tools and subsequently discovered there was an outstanding warrant in existence for his arrest issued out Fall River District Court for Vandalism.

Roy was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
