Trespasser struck in Waltham.

On September 12, 2018 at approximately 7PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to Waltham for a report of a person possibly struck by a train. Multiple TPD units responded along with Waltham Fire and EMS. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A male, approximately 20 years of age, while trespassing on the westbound track on the Fitchburg Line, in the vicinity of 400 River Street was struck by a MBTA Commuter Rail train. The male has sustained serious injuries and has been transported to a Boston hospital for emergency treatment.

Transit Police detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. Foul play is NOT suspected.
