Nelson Faria

On September 20, 2018 at approximately 9:40PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call for a man inside the MBTA Oak Grove parking lot damaging vehicles. Upon arrival an officer observed a male, later identified as Nelson Faria, 41, of Malden actively attempting to smash the window of an unoccupied Transit Police cruiser. The TPD officer interrupted Faria's attempts and a brief struggle ensued. The officer was ultimately able to gain control of Faria and place him into custody.

A review of our public safety camera system revealed Faria forcefully ripped off the front license plate of the Transit Police cruiser and then proceeded to urinate all over the side of our TPD cruiser. It was at this time Faria attempted to smash out the window.
