On September 24, 2018 at approximately 3:15PM a Transit Police detective was in the vicinity of the North Quincy MBTA station bike rack in response to bicycle thefts. While there the detective observed a male, later identified as Anthony Dimeco, 35, of Quincy. Dimeco was shaking a secured bike and attempting to pull the lock away from the crossbar. Dimeco then proceeded to the next bicycle and began pulling on it in an attempt to remove from the rack. Dimeco, unsuccessful in his first two attempts, then proceeded to try a 3rd bike at this time the TPD detective approached Dimeco and displayed his badge. Dimeco blurted out " I haven't stolen the bike yet, I have only been trying "
Dimeco was placed into custody for Attempted Larceny of a Bicycle and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking
process.
