Maillet/Omeara |
On July 27, 2015 at approximately 9pm Transit Police officers were on patrol at the MBTA's Alewife station. While there they observed a male and female, later identified
Michael Maillet, 26, and
Brittany Omeara, 26, both of Waltham. Maillet and Omeara were observed loitering in the "Pick up Drop off" area for over an hour and appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance. Officers approached the duo and subsequently discovered Maillet had a warrant for his arrest issued from Salem District Court for Shoplifting. As the officers were placing Maillet into custody Omeara began to verbally berate the officers yelling profanities and creating a disturbance. Officers requested several times for Omeara to cease her behavior and ordered her to vacate the station. Omeara responded by yelling racial epithets at the officers as she proceeded to Cambridge Parkway blocking traffic and continuing to shout racial insults. Omeara was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. It is expected Omeara will be arrainged sometime today in Cambridge District Court for Trespassing and Disorderly Conduct. Maillet was also arrested by virtue of the warrant and transported to TPD HQ as well.
