On July 2, 2015 at approximately 4:30pm several Transit Police officers were on high visibility patrol at the MBTA's Chinatown station. While there they observed a male, later identified as
Tevin Fortier, 19, of Boston fare evade by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Fortier who immediately became verbally combative and furnished several false names. Officers were able to ascertain Fortier's true identity which revealed he was wanted by Lowell District Court for Assault & Battery with Bodily Substance on a Correctional Official. Fortier was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
