On September 6th, 2012 we wrote about Robert Gallagher who was smoking a cigarette directly under a conspicuously posted "No Smoking " sign at South Station, subsequently Gallagher was arrested for an outstanding warrant and issued a citation for smoking. (

| Transit Police/William Curtain |
On September 23rd, 2012 at approximately 10:30 pm Transit Police officers assigned to Area 3 were on patrol at Quincy Adams MBTA station when their attention was drawn to a male, later identified as
William Curtain, 26 of Boston, MA. Curtain was seated on a bench near the entrance to the station and smoking from a cigarette. Directly above Curtain was a posted "NO SMOKING" sign, additionally there were several other posted "No Smoking" signs within view as well. Officers approached Curtain for the purposes of issuing him a citation and subsequently discovered there were three outstanding default warrants in existence for Curtain's arrest. Two of the warrants were issued from Brockton District Court for Shoplifting and the third warrant was issued from Plymouth District Court also for Shoplifting. Curtain was placed into custody for the warrants and transported to Transit Police HQ for processing. Curtain was also issued a citation for smoking. Curtain was transported to Brockton District Court this morning and will eventually be brought over to Plymouth Court as well.

ReplyDeleteChain smokers are like that. They disregard NO SMOKING signs. I remember recommending stop smoking with hypnosis for a friend who was smoking like a machine, dropped me like a hot potato.
ReplyDeleteIf they're going to break the rules and dare officers to arrest them, people like this should read up on ecig reviews. If they have to smoke, they might as well puff something that doesn't endanger others or themselves.
