Charles Sally |
On July 9, 2020 at approximately 4:18:PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the vicinity of Sullivan Sq. MBTA station for an individual setting off illegal fireworks. Upon arrival officers observed a subject fitting the description provided, later identified as Charles Sally, 34, of Somerville. Sally was about to board an MBTA bus in the station's bus way. Officers observed Roman Candles protruding from his person and asked to speak with him. Officers recovered fireworks and an illegal double edged knife from Sally . At this point Sally fled and the officers pursued ultimately stopping Sally on Spice Street in Charlestown. Officers subsequently discovered there was a warrant for Sally's arrest issued out of Wrentham District Court for Witness Intimidation. Sally was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. During this process officers discovered what they believed to be illicit street narcotics from Sally's person. Sally to be charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Illegal Fireworks and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
