On November 6, 2019 at approximately 8:14 PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's West Newton Commuter Rail station for a report of a person possibly struck by a train. Multiple TPD units responded along with Newton Fire and EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: An adult male in the vicinity of Lowell Ave., age unknown at this time, while trespassing on the right of way, was struck by an inbound commuter rail train on Track 1. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained. TPD Detectives and representatives of the Middlesex County DA's Office are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
