On October 8, 2019 at approximately 11:30PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the area of Everett Ave and Maple Street's in Chelsea for a report of person possibly struck by a commuter rail train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Chelsea Police, Fire & EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A male, approximate age of 50's, while trespassing on the right of way was struck by an inbound commuter rail train on the Rockport Line line. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.
Transit Police detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
Foul play is NOT suspected.
