On October 3, 2019 at approximately 5:30PM Transit Police officers on patrol at the MBTA's State Street Station has their attention drawn to a male, later identified as Aaron Souza, 42 , of East Boston. Souza was smoking a cigarette in close proximity to conspicuously displayed 'No Smoking" signs. Officers approached Souza to educate him on the no smoking laws regarding the MBTA and subsequently discovered Souza was wanted out of East Boston District Court for Strangulation and Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Souza was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
