Train strike in Beverly. TPD

On October 22, 2019 at approximately 8:20AM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Commuter Rail station, Beverly Depot, located in Beverly MA. for a report of a person possibly struck by a train. Multiple TPD units responded along with Beverly Fire and EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: An adult male while riding his bicycle through the pedestrian cut through was struck by an outbound commuter rail train on Track 1. The male has sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident and has been transported to a hospital for emergency care. TPD Detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
