Boston man crashes into MBTA bus and flees scene.

On October 29, 2019 at approximately 7:39PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the 700 block of Blue Hill Avenue for an accident involving an MBTA bus. Upon arrival officers were met by witnesses and the bus operator. Officers obtained the following information: A male, later identified as Robert Scott, 42, of Boston drove his Honda Odyssey in reverse against traffic striking the rear of the MBTA bus as well as a legally parked vehicle. Scott exited his vehicle argued with the bus operator and fled the scene on foot. While officers were taking statements a witness pointed out Scott, who was standing on the corner of BHA and Esmond Street. Officers immediately proceeded in Scott's direction and ultimately returned him to the scene. Scott was positively identified as the operator by witnesses.

Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol about Scott's body and observed signs of intoxication. Scott was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. During this process it was discovered Scott's right to operate a vehicle was suspended.
