On July 14, 2019 at approximately 9:45PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to South Station Silver Line for a report of an assault on board a Silver Line bus. Upon arrival officers were met by witnesses and a 16 year old female victim. The victim informed the officers she was traveling on board a Silver Line bus en route to South Station when she was Indecently Assaulted by a male, later identified as JOHN REED, 52, of Whitman. Witnesses and the victim pointed out Reed who remained on the bus. As the officers were speaking with the victim Reed displayed his middle finger at her.Officers boarded the bus and informed Reed he was under arrest. Reed was uncooperative and dropped his body to the floor when officers attempted to place him in hand restraints. Ultimately Reed was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process where officers noted a strong smell of alcohol emanating from his person.
