Quincy man arrested for Illegal Possession of Handgun
On September 2, 2016 at approximately 1:30PM a Transit Police officer assigned to the North District was on patrol at the MBTA's Porter Sq. Commuter Rail station. While there his attention was drawn to a male, later identified as Patrick Williams-Denis, 21, of Quincy. Williams-Denis was seated on a bench at the far end of the Commuter Rail platform and appeared to be rolling a marijuana cigarette. The officer proceeded in Williams-Denis' location to further observe. Upon approached the officer observed what he believed to be marijuana and in fact Williams-Denis admitted he was preparing a marijuana cigarette. Williams-Denis claimed to have additional marijuana in his possession and consented to a search of his contents. Subsequently the officer recovered a 32 caliber handgun loaded to capacity from Williams-Denis' backpack, additional individually wrapped baggies of marijuana and a scale. The officer determined Williams-Denis did not possess a license to carry a firearm. He was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
Williams-Denis will arraigned sometime today in Cambridge District Court for the following offences: Possession of a Firearm w/Defaced serial number and Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute.
