Boston man wanted for Rape caught Up Skirting at MBTA station
O September 20, 2016 at approximately 3:30PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Porter Sq. station for a report of a male who was secretly taking videos of female passengers. Upon arrival the officer was met by a female victim who informed them a fellow passenger pointed out a male, later identified as James Cullers,51, of Boston and stated " He's video taping up your skirt". The victim confronted Cullers who admitted to the act and agreed to delete the video. The victim then pointed out Cullers to the officer.
The officer approached Cullers who was holding a cellular telephone in his hand. Upon approach of the officer Culler began to manipulate the phone and apologize. Subsequent to an investigation Cullers was placed into custody for Making a Secret Video (Known as the Up Skirting Law) and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. During the booking process it was discovered there was a warrant for Cullers arrest issued from Wareham District Court for Rape and 2 counts of Indecent Assault & Battery on a person Over 14.
It is expected Cullers will be arraigned today in Cambridge District Court.
