Unarmed Robbery

On March 12, 2013 at approximately 5:45 pm  a male, later identified as Diondre Grant, 18 of Roxbury, forcefully grabbed a cellphone from the hands of a female victim as they were riding on an Orange Line train and fled with his ill gotten gains as the train pulled into Roxbury Crossing MBTA station. Grant then fled out of the station, however a good Samaritan was in pursuit of him and was able to briefly apprehend him outside the station. A Transit Police officer from Area 4 who was on patrol at the station immediately proceeded in their direction, Grant was able to break free from the good Samaritan but was eventually apprehended a short distance away. Grant was placed into custody for Unarmed Robbery and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Grant was arraigned today in Roxbury District Court. The attached video shows Grant fleeing out of the station he ultimately ends up at TPD HQ.
