Man with Warrant creates scene and yells at Police

On March 25, 2013 at approximately 4:20 pm plainclothes Transit Police officers from Area 1 were on patrol at Park Street MBTA station. While there their attention was drawn to a male, later identified as Richard Lawson, 32 of Boston who was loitering and not utilizing any of the numerous trains that had come through. Officers approached Lawson and identified themselves as Transit Police officers.  Before officers could engage him in conversation Lawson began to inexplicably shout obscenities at the officers and spit in their direction. Lawson's disorderly behavior continued and officers were eventually able to ascertain there was an active warrant in existence for his arrest issued from Boston Municipal Court for Larceny Over 250.00. Lawson was placed into custody for the warrant and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Lawson will appear sometime today in BMC.
