On June 5, 2022 at approximately 6:35PM at the MBTA's Downtown Crossing Orange Line platform concern citizens heard a "ticking" noise coming from an unknown device located somewhere in the right of way. Multiple Transit Police officers responded. A subsequent investigation revealed the noise was coming from an Anti-Theft device with its cable cut and posed no harm/danger to our riding public. An MBTA transportation official retrieved the item from the right of way and service resumed.
The above illustrates a great example of "See Something Say Something". We would like to recognize and thank those who spoke up. Together we can maintain a safe riding environment for all to benefit from.
