Mattapan man wanted for Assaulting Police Officer attacks man at MBTA Back Bay Station.

 On June 26, 2022 at approximately 7PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Back Bay station for a report of an assault. Upon arrival officers located a 58 year old male victim who informed the officers that as he was seated on a bench in the lobby of the commuter rail an unknown male without provocation closed fisted punched him in the face.  As the victim fell back the assailant removed one of the victim's sneakers and struck the victim again with his own sneaker. The victim sustained swelling on his face and a slight laceration on his arm. The victim then pointed out his attacker. 

Officers immediately approached the assailant later identified as Oscar Lyle, 55, of Mattapan. Officers soon discovered Lyle had several warrants in existence for his arrest issued out of Boston Municipal Court Central Division for Disorderly Conduct, Trespassing, Resisting Arrest and Assault & Battery on a Police Officer. Lyle was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
