On February 4, 2022 at approximately 8:50PM a male boarded an MBTA bus at Boston Medical Center in Boston. The MBTA bus operator politely requested he don a mask. The male subject ignored the request and proceeded to speak on his cellular telephone. According to the operator the subject was apparently so troubled by the request to don a mask he was telling the person on the other end of the call about it in unpleasant terms. At some point the male subject approached the operator and stated "Shut the f*** up" or he would "stab" him. Immediately following this threat the male subject produced a knife and lunged at the operator. Fortunately the male subject did not make any contact with the operator.
